JTIFF would like to invite you to our first collaboration Hollywood Meets the Desert, a special industry component of the Twentynine Palms Book Festival - created to connect producers and filmmakers with authors, rights holders and compelling stories with screen potential.

Located in the Hi-Desert near Joshua Tree National Park and within easy reach of Los Angeles, Twentynine Palms has become home to a growing community of writers, artists and filmmakers.

That proximity to Los Angeles has naturally taken our work from books to screen. Throughout the year, the Twentynine Palms Book Festival team identifies under-the-radar books, true stories and literary IP that can be adapted for the screen—and, whenever possible, filmed in and around Palm Springs and across the Mojave Desert.

Hollywood Meets the Desert will take place on Friday, November 13 at 3:30 PM at the Twentynine Palms Community Center, where Desert Noir will present four crime-fiction properties selected for their feature-film adaptation potential, in a session presented by filmmaker and JTIFF (Joshua Tree International Film Festival founder & Director) Ondi Timoner, with readings by the four authors, followed by a panel discussion. We hope you can join us!
